Hanson Creek Ranch is an 80 acre site made up of rolling terrain and a little creek which flows year round. The ranch faces the majestic Tobacco Root Mountain Range with the highest peak, Hollow Top Mountain providing a beautiful backdrop. The ranch is completely fenced, suitable for livestock. It has a stately lodge pole pine ranch gate at the south entrance to the property (see photo gallery). Power and telephone service run to the property and the ranch is easily accessible year round by a well maintained county road. During the spring, wildflowers of lupine and lillies are intermixed with the green grasses, sage, and juniper that blanket the land. In wintertime the ranch receives relatively mild snowfall compared to most of Montana. A 4" inch snowfall isn't unusual, but with an abundant amount of sunshine the snow doesn't last very long.
Hanson Creek Ranch is suitable for feature films, commercials, or still shoots. It is an ideal filming location with plenty of room to spread out and accommodate all of your filming needs.
No one will argue over the beauty of this historic gold mining town nestled at the base of Montana's Tobacco Root Mountains. Filming on location in Pony not only gives you plenty of wide open space with views of pastures and breathtaking mountain peaks, it also gives you the ease to set up and create without the hassles of hovering neighbors. This is one of the last "true ranching" areas left in Big Sky Country. Bountiful wildlife, including elk, moose, deer, and antelope roam free in this pristine setting. In the mid 1800's Pony was a thriving gold mining town. Today, many of its historical landmarks still stand, including the old red brick school house, the mill, the church building, the state bank, and the Pony Saloon (a true western bar that also serves as the town hall and restaurant). Pony is in close proximity to some of the finest fishing rivers in the country. Just a few miles away the waters of the Madison, Jefferson, and Gallatin converge to form the headwaters of the Missouri. And if its smaller rivers you are looking for there are plenty of streams and creeks meandering through the beautiful hills above Pony.
